my cousins and I all grew up together in one house and my whole mothers side of the family is darkskinned i am more lighter with long hair because i have a partial dominican father they teased me and called me high yellow heffer and pig nose when i was a little girl and my cousin put bubble gum in my hair when we were 6 and my older cousin cut my air when I was 10 our family reunion is coming up and i havent seen some of them for more than 3 years should i give everyone a piece of my mind or play it cool?

my cousins and i used to fight like cats and dogs when we were kids but now we're the best of friends! Just play it cool. You should all talk about the stuff you used to do to each other when you were younger and laugh about it. everything will be fine after that.

Most likely they feel guilty about what they've done to you and arn't looking forward to seeing you either.

They were evil but you're all adults now, they can't do anything to you at a family gathering, they would look ridiculous, childish and pety!

It's way easier to play it cool, you would look stupid going back years later and giving them abuse.

Be mature and torture them by acting as if nothing has happened, the guilt will most likely get to them, also mean people hate it when you're nice and smiley, it drives them nuts!

If you're feeling really really bad about having to see them maybe talk to a family member who's going to be there and you feel close to before hand- e.g. a sibling or aunt etc- then they'll be there for you if your cousins do get nasty or if you don't want to talk to your cousins at all just hang out with the member you like for the whole reunion.
