the bible was originally written in hebrew, then translated into greek then to english. the english language is very basic and hebrew and greek is very complicated as they are older than the english.

some of the verses and sentences in the bible cannot be taken literally as it is verbally impossible to translate some words.

also you have so many different versions of the bible that it is hard to believe everything that is written in it; especially the way the world is today, i personally believe the government has added and taken out so many things in the bible to keep us living in fear and so we dont know too much about life an the world.

did you know there is another chapter of the bible? its called the "macabee". dont read it if you dont have a strong head as it can turn you mad alledgedly and

apparently only the queen of england has the real bible.

i personally think everything we know and see is a big lie (kind of like the matrix, but not literally) and there is so much we dont know about our lives.

the catholic religion comes from the christian religion. it was formed to control people and now the catholic religion is at the top.

first of all they call the priest father! but in the bible it says God is our father so shouldnt the priest be our brother?

second i dont see why we kiss the popes ring! hes just a messenger of God! (or so HE says), why must we bow down to him, isnt he our equal?

third why dont priests get married and have intercourse with their wives when it blatantly says in genesis we are here to be fruitful (happy) and multiply (reproduce)

fourth why do they pray to mary? she only gave birth to Jesus

fifth why is there a gay priest? it blatanly says in the bible "man must not lie down with man"

sixth when someone confesses to the priest why is it that all you have to do is say a few hail marys and a few our fathers and thats okay? once you do that will God then forgive you? shouldnt you be appologising from your heart?

seventh why do they bow down to mary?

im sorry but the catholic religion is sick and is not worshiping god for the right reasons.

they worship idols like the statue of mary and wear the crucifix like it will save you! its just a piece of gold, plastic or wood! everything you do or ask for has to come from your heart not from a piece of jewellry!!!

plus in the 70's it was said that the priests actually have sex with the nuns and hide it and under the church was a load of dead babies who had been killed so that the public would not know they were having sex with eachother!!

and the priests rape and molester little choir boys and girls!!!

Wow....it's gonna be hard to answer all that... Jesus (the human half) was Jewish. I have been to confession several times and never did I get away with such an easy penence. I had to read chapters and verses and books and things pertaining to my offenses. We do not worship or bow down to Mary, we reverance as all mothers deserve reverance but her more than any, Christ while he was dying on the cross gave her to John and John to her (symbolism that she was given to us and us to her) you have pictures of your loved ones don't you? that's the same thing as have pics or statues of holy people that are important to us, not for worship but for importance or memory. The Bible also says that man cannot have more than 1 master if a priest marries he becomes more concerned for his family rather than his church. Paul also asked that we stay single as he was but if we must, marry so as not to sin. The Catholic Bible does contain the book of Macabees. The priest is a descendant of peter who was given the keys to Heaven and takes the Christ-like responsibility of "what is held bound here on earth will be held bound in Heave and what is forgiven here on earth will be forgiven in Heaven"

If you believe in God then you cut out worrying about most of that stuff. Simply ask Him to show you the truth, He will. Finding the truth is like getting rid of all the additives. It's pure, it tastes real and it's good for you. I know the Bible seems impossible to be real any more but God is big enough to keep it real against all the odds. If you don't believe at least that much about the God you believe in then you don't have a God worth believing in.

Yep. Jesus was not a white man; he was dark skinned. I totally agree with your remarks about Catholicism. I grew up Catholic by birth, not by choice. As an adult, I realized the inconsistencies in it, and while I do have Faith now, I do not practice any religion. Religion is a means to control the masses. Religion is one thing and God is another. :o)

I also assumed that Jesus was middle eastern. I agree that religions have some issues and that they probably got some things wrong, but who am I to decide which parts those are? I am Catholic, and I participate in my religion because it makes me feel good. I live my live as a good and decent Christian woman, and I know that God will make the final judgement on me. He knows the person I am. You're right, a few extra prayers assigned by a priest may not cleanse your soul of sin, but God knows when you are truly repentent and when you are not. There are so many religions in this world, but nobody on the planet can know which is living the way God wants it. Only God knows that, and our job as Christians is to guess and hope we get it right. We can't do more than that.

first i have no clue what jesus looked like, my family is from the mideast, my father was born only blocks from where they say jesus was born, however my father is fair skinned blonde hair and green eyes, my aunt is a red head, i have light olive colored skin, light brown eyes and dark hair. so from my observation of my family i can not conclude what jesus looked like, never been to the mideast myself so all i can go by is my family

i was born into a catholic family but we never really followed the rules, to this i say to each their own
