AAAAk! Laminite flooring crisis... who know how to fix this before daddy gets home???

A bottle of Windex got spilled on our laminate wood floor. Now the ends of three pieces are swelling and rising. This stuff was a real pain to install.... PLEASE tell me there is a way to fix the three slices that are damaged!!! Hair dryer? Iron? My husband gets home in 8 days and I would like to fix it before then. And no, you can't just replace the damaged slices - you would have to redo the whole living room. Thanks people

It is possible that the swelling planks will flatten out when dried but it may be that you need to disassemble the floor enough to replace the bad planks.

Try Murphy's Oil Soap, it cleans but restores oil to wood. At Home Depot or Lowes. Then paste wax may be in order. Make sure it is dry with a fan before waxing.

My mom did this in her kitchen -- same thing, spilled windex and it rose up... you will only have to take out the first couple of rows or so... and it wil lbe a pain, but thats the only way to do it withot it looking like you tried to hide it. Once you replace it (you can even go to lowes or home depot and hire someone to do it...its not going to be a hard job..so it won't be that expensive) and then when he gets home tell him -- gotta be honest 00- but at least he won't have to fool with the repair. good luck!

I'd go ask this very question to the Home Depot guys, they are great and as stated above, maybe hire them to do the jpb for you. Good luck!
